As part of our ongoing commitment to youth advocacy and environmental justice, we provided a Youth Environmental Justice Candidate Questionnaire to Michigan Congressional members in an effort for Michigan youth to understand each candidate’s positions on key issues related to climate change, environmental justice, and youth engagement. This questionnaire was developed by the Flint Environmental Justice Advisory Council informed by the youth participants in the 2024 Flint Environmental Justice Summer Camp. The questionnaire consisted of 10 questions, including one open-ended response and nine multiple-choice questions. Their answers outlined in this report will be used to inform our community and youth voters about the candidate’s stances on these important issues. The report is updated in real time on a rolling basis where responses are added as they come in from each respective candidate. 100% of all candidates were sent the questionnaire both electronically and through certified mail. Young, Gifted & Green is recognized as a 501(c)(3) entity and strictly adheres to the prohibition against participating in partisan political activities as mandated by the Internal Revenue Code.
