Shop Talk Flint: Sackett v EPA & The Clean Water Act

November 5, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join Black Millennials 4 Flint in partnership with Big Daddy’s Barbershop for a DOPE conversation surrounding the Sackett v EPA Case and the Clean Water Act.

The Supreme Court’s first case this term is Sackett v. EPA – a vital case that will decide whether decades-long efforts by polluters to gut the Clean Water Act will succeed, or if the Court will uphold protections for our clean water. The worst polluters – including oil and gas companies, mining, and developers, along with their pro-polluter allies in Congress – are using this case to hamstring EPA’s ability to protect the health of our families and communities from harmful pollution. Congress passed the Clean Water Act 50 years ago to protect people, not polluters. The Court must reject industry-backed efforts to undermine these longstanding critical safeguards for our drinking water. The US Supreme Court has a choice to make in the upcoming case, Sackett v. EPA: defend our fundamental right to clean water, or cave to special interests and gut the Clean Water Act.

Free lunch will be provided to the first 10 customers booked between 11AM-1PM. This is a kid friendly event (with an accompanied adult).
