Womb Wednesday: Green × Queer Mamas: Inclusivity in the Childbirthing + Environmental Justice Space

March 23, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Womb Wednesday is a monthly digital content series curated by Black Millennials 4 Flint (BM4F) that focuses on the intersection of Maternal Health and Environmental Justice through a Black, Latinx and Indigenous lens. Womb Wednesday is a signature program from BM4F’s Black+Brown Alliance which amplifies the need for a strong, united front between Black and Brown folks to actively dismantle white supremacy through improving the quality of Black and Brown births.
Womb Wednesdays air every 4th Wednesday at 7PM ET/6PM CT on Facebook Live and YouTube live.
This month’s episode is “Green × Queer Mamas: Inclusivity in the Childbirthing + Environmental Justice Space”. Homophobia and transphobia have no place in childbirth, but our oppressive heterocisgender dominating society creates a toxic experience for non-gender conforming and trans parents-to-be. In addition to lack of birth equity, members of the LGBTQIA+ community often experience unstable and unhealthy housing and living conditions putting them and their growing baby at severe risk. This session will amplify this very nuanced but way too frequent occurrence in the Black and Latinx community.
