Green Table Talk–The Dirty South: Legacy Pollution in America’s Black Belt

December 14, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

On behalf of Black Millennials 4 Flint, Climate Action Campaign, and the Environmental Defense Fund, we would like to invite you to join us for our Season 4 Episode 3 of Green Table Talk on the topic The Dirty South: Legacy Pollution in America’s Black Belt“.  While environmental injustice and racism are prevalent throughout the United States, the conditions in Southern states and cities are particularly devastating.  From fighting the Byhalia Pipeline in Memphis, TN, Cancer Alley in Louisiana, and Water and Sanitation issues in Alabama, America’s “Black Belt” has been and continues to be in a state of environmental peril.  This panel of freedom fighters will tell their stories of both their struggle and victories over polluters.
