This immersive circle of wisdom is tailored to Black, Latinx, and Indigenous Doulas, midwives, and Ancestral birth workers serving Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, Minnesota…and beyond!
This highly engaging workshop will be filled with classic brunch bites and beverages for in-person attendees (UberEats vouchers will be provided to virtual attendees), and empowering conversations among all! By centering the life-saving scope of work and advocacy of Doulas, midwives and Ancestral birth workers, local experts will share insights on regional relevance and influence of the Black Maternal Momnibus Act of 2021 at the intersection of Environmental Justice.
The purpose of this event is to…
1. Uplift Revive Community Health Center as a center of maternal health advocacy in Flint, Michigan.
2. Ensure local and regional Doulas, midwives, and birth workers are aware of partnership opportunities Revive Community Health Center.
3. Increase access to Black Millennials 4 Flint as a national liaison for bringing the voices of Doulas, midwives, and Ancestral birth workers to Capitol Hill and the White House.
4. Provide educational awareness surrounding the intersection of Maternal Health and Environmental Justice.
Raffles prizes will be awarded to lucky guests throughout the event (including virtual attendees)!
