About young, gifted & green
We are a national civil rights & environmental justice organization that influences policy change through political advocacy, mentorship, and training. Our roots began in 2015 as a programming initiative to support the residents of Flint, MI within Thursday Network – Greater Washington Urban League Professionals. We officially grew into a movement February 10, 2016, and we have since expanded our mission and policy work nationally with programming in Maryland, Michigan, Tennessee (Mid-South) & Washington, DC.
Our National Impact
To date, we have worked in a total of 20 states (as well as Puerto Rico) supporting Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities battling against environmental racism through equitable policy and legislation.
